Proper Nutrition, Better Nation

Proper Nutrition, Better Nation

ISSUE 2025           Saturday, 08/23/25           08/03/2010

The month of July is the Nutrition month. It highlights the benefits of eating healthy foods such as fruit and vegetables. Our school had established multiple events during the nutrition month. The theme of this Nutrition month is "Food at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain karapatan Natin!". It implies how the food we consume should contain the nutrients we need for our bodies and that we should have the rights to consume the right amount of food.

The first event our school had during the nutrition month was the Nutri-Quiz. Each special programme had two representatives from each section. The representatives for our section was me and Warren James P. Giron. During the Nutri-quiz, at first we were losing but during the difficult round we used the power of friendship and locked in and got consistent points. After that, they announced the winner/champion and it was us. We got 1st Place in the nutri-quiz due to the power of friendship.

The following competitions was the oratorical, digital poster, traditional poster, nutri-jingle, and nutri food fest. Our representative in the oratorical competition was Jillian Santiago Bilgera and she won the 1st place. No one represented in our section on the digital poster, I wanted to participate but the announcement said in our room was too late, and I didn't really had time to prepare. The traditional poster, Lynlhei Kate Alimari represented our section and won the school-based competition. Our section also participated in the nutri jingle contest in our school but didn't secure a place. The other section of the special science class  10-Maxwell however went national and won 3rd place.

The last competition was the Nutri-food fest, we also participated and won the competition and secured the 1st place. A month of celebrating the event may seem like a short period of time but we learned million lessons to carry with us throughout our lives. We learned many skills and new things we never thought we could ever do. We discovered the power of confidence, friendship, collaboration, creativity, patience, and many more. We should embrace every oppurtunity that lies ahead of us and use it to improve ourselves

The nutrition month made us more aware about many things that can affect our health, physicaly and emotionally. Like for example the food we every day.  Let's be open minded about the new knowledge we can use to make us improve.  The nutrition month is a reminder for us that health is in fact wealth and proper nutrition will result to a better nation.
